Okay, but delivery was slow

I got the TTRS Home subscription last month for my daughter. Ordering was easy enough, the checkout process was straightforward. The multi-sensory reading program itself is pretty good, and she seems to be engaging with it. I did have an issue with getting access though; it took almost three days to get the activation email and start using it after payment, which felt a bit long. Once we were in, the progress tracking reports have been helpful for seeing how she's doing. The iPad app version works well too.

Helped my son a lot

My son struggles with dysgraphia so we tried the Dysgraphia typing tool. It's been really good. He's actually enjoying the lessons, which is a big deal. The lessons are easy to follow and it's not too overwhelming. We use the Android app and it works perfectly. Happy with it.

Reliable support for schools

We've used TTRS for Schools for a few years now. This latest renewal for our school-wide site license was as smooth as previous ones. The support team is consistent and always helps quickly if we have any questions about managing student accounts. It's why we keep coming back.

Always reliable for my students

This isn't my first time using Touch Type Read and Spell. I've bought the TTRS for Tutors subscription several times now, and it's always consistent. The process of adding new students and tracking their progress through the teacher dashboard is familiar and easy to navigate. It's why I keep coming back. The modular learning units are well-designed, and the phonics-based typing really helps my students who struggle with reading. Haven't had any major issues with it over the years.

Good value for home subscription

I was looking for something to help my kid with spelling and saw the TTRS Home subscription. The annual subscription saving made it feel like a solid choice compared to monthly. It felt worth the purchase, especially seeing the progress reports. Pretty practical.

Good for dyslexia, a bit slow

I got the TTRS Home subscription for my son with dyslexia. Ordering online was straightforward, no issues there. They delivered the access details to my email within an hour, which was fast. The software itself is really helpful; the multi-sensory approach works well for him. We've seen some good improvements in his spelling. My only gripe was that customer support took about 3 days to respond to a question I had about resetting progress, which felt a bit long. But once they did, the answer was clear. The iPad app version works smoothly too.

So helpful for my daughter!

Oh my goodness, I am so happy with the TTRS Home subscription! We just finished the first few modules and my daughter is already typing better and her spelling is improving. It's seriously making a difference for her dyslexia, I can see her confidence growing. I'm telling all my friends about this! We will definitely be renewing this subscription next year. What a fantastic program!

Decent value, quick start

I was looking for something effective but also affordable. The annual subscription saving on the TTRS Home plan caught my eye. It felt like a good deal compared to other options. I got the TTRS Home subscription and it was easy to set up. I wish there had been a clearer discount code section at checkout, but I managed. Overall, it seems worth the money for what you get.

Thinking of getting this for my kid with dyslexia. Does it actually help with reading or is it mostly just typing practice?

B Ben Martin 1 month ago
It really helps with both! The way they combine typing with phonics, it kinda drills the spelling and sounds in, which definitely made a difference for my niece's reading confidence.

For my son, it was huge. The multi-sensory thing really clicked for him. He's not just typing, he's learning how words are built, which translates to better reading.

Wondering about using this on an iPad. Is the app good, or is it better on a computer?

N Nick 3 weeks ago
The iPad app is pretty solid. My daughter uses it on hers mostly, seems to work just fine. No issues with the touchscreen keyboard or anything.
2
T Thomas Torres 3 weeks ago
I've used it on both. Computer is maybe a bit smoother for actual typing practice with a physical keyboard, but the iPad version is totally usable for the lessons. Just depends what you prefer.

Anyone know if they do free trials? Wanna try it out before committing.

A Amanda Scott 4 weeks ago
Yeah, they totally do! I got a 2-day trial, just enough time to see if my kid would even bother with it. Definitely recommend trying that first.

A Alex White 4 weeks ago
Pretty sure they have a free trial, at least they did when I signed up last year. Check their site, it should be obvious to find.

Anyone know if you can use TTRS on a tablet? My kid mostly uses an iPad for school stuff.

T Tim Thomas 1 month ago
Yep, they have an iPad app! My daughter uses it on hers all the time. Makes it pretty convenient.

M Melissa W. 1 month ago
And Android too, I think. So pretty much any tablet should be fine, afaik.

How long does it usually take to see progress with this program? My son gets bored easily.

M Megan Smith 1 month ago
It's modular, so you can do it in small chunks. Hard to say exactly how long because it depends on the student, but it's not like one big long thing you have to finish in one go.

S Sean White 1 month ago
My nephew took a few months to get through a good chunk of it, but he was doing it pretty consistently. It's not super fast, but it's designed to build skills over time, not rush through.

Hey guys, thinking about getting TTRS for my kiddo. Does it actually help with dyslexia like they say? Or is it just another typing program?

P Patricia 1 month ago
Yeah, I use it for my son, and it's been pretty good. The multi-sensory thing seems to click for him, way more than just regular typing practice. It's not a magic bullet, but definitely helps with confidence.

L Lisa M. 1 month ago
I think it's based on Orton-Gillingham, which is a good sign for dyslexia support. My daughter struggled with other programs but this one has made a difference for her reading and spelling too, not just typing.

Thinking of buying TTRS for my family, but it's a bit pricey. Are there ever discounts for home users or family plans?

S Sandra Moore 1 month ago
Definitely look for a family plan discount! They usually have something like that. And sometimes they run sales, especially around back-to-school or Black Friday.
6
M Michael Parker 1 month ago
Yeah, check their site directly or sign up for their email list. I got a home user discount last year, saved me a bit. And there's a free trial so you can test it first.

How long does it usually take to get through the main course? Trying to plan it out for my homeschool schedule.

S Sean Smith 1 month ago
It really depends on how often you (or your kid) use it. My kid did 30 mins a day and got through the basics in a few months, but it's self-paced.
1
E Elizabeth Smith 1 month ago
There's no set time limit really. It's modular, so you can go as fast or slow as you need. Some people take longer than others to get the full benefit.
